BLUE CANYON, Placer County — Caltrans construction bulletins show that local access around Blue Canyon Road was affected by roadwork during September 2026.
A September 18 notice scheduled one-way traffic control on Blue Canyon Road on September 21 and a closure from September 22 through September 25. The restrictions were associated with highway pavement work and construction around the surrounding Interstate 80 corridor. The bulletin also listed separate eastbound and westbound lane restrictions farther along the route.
Those September dates are historical and should not be mistaken for a current closure on November 1. Work crews may resume controls during later phases, and mountain weather can generate new closures independently of construction.
What travelers and residents should know
Blue Canyon residents should confirm planned access with Caltrans QuickMap and official weekly bulletins rather than relying on social media reposts of old road-closure schedules.
