BLUE CANYON, Placer County — Blue Canyon Airport is subject to a set of county rules governing aircraft and ground operations, including where vehicles may travel and how people may access flight areas.
Placer County’s airport ordinance covers airport hours, aircraft storage, maintenance, runway access, fuel handling and other safety matters. The regulations say motorists must use designated roads or areas and yield the right of way to aircraft. The rules are intended to limit conflicts between ground traffic and airport users, not to make the airfield an unrestricted sightseeing or recreation area.
Pilots should verify current operating conditions, runway data, weather and any notices to air missions through aviation information services before planning a flight. A published county ordinance is not a live report of runway availability.
What travelers and residents should know
Visitors with questions about public access or aircraft operations should contact the airport manager or county’s relevant office. Drivers should obey gates and posted restrictions and keep emergency access clear.
